Our Story
Chain Reaction is the work of Anatoliy Plotskiy — a mechanic many North Shore riders already know from his years at Green Bay Cycles. Cycling has taken Anatoliy a long way: a competitive racer who took a state title in 2011, he's ridden through more than a dozen countries, run his own shop overseas, and wrenched for elite athletes at the Red Bull Trans-Siberian Extreme, one of the toughest endurance races on earth.
In the summer of 2026, he opened Chain Reaction at 996 Green Bay Road — the former Phototronics space in Winnetka's Hubbard Woods. The shop carries on the spirit that made Green Bay Cycles special, opening with the blessing of its longtime owners, Larry and Pam Faulkner, and the backing of a North Shore cycling community that rallied to make it happen.
The mission is simple: honest service, expert repairs, quality bikes, and genuine care for every rider who comes through the door. You'll find bikes for the whole family — Jamis for teens and adults, Woom for the youngest riders, and custom titanium frames built in Portugal — alongside the meticulous repair work the North Shore has trusted for years. Group cycling adventures are in the works, too.
